Each of the students participated in the Association’s annual scholarship challenge, which asks applicants to submit information about their community service and their academics along with an essay discussing their personal positions on body cameras on police officers. Christina Habas receives the ABOTA Judicial Excellence Award
Former Denver District Court Judge Christina M. Habas was awarded the annual Judicial Excellence Award by the Colorado Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates – a leading U.S. civil trial lawyers’ organization.
The Judicial Excellence Award was presented to Christina by current Colorado Chapter President, Cliff Beem.
ABOTA’s Colorado chapter has 119 trial attorneys. This prestigious organization is made up equally of plaintiffs’ and defendants’ attorneys. In order to be considered for membership, a candidate must demonstrate they have completed a significant numbers of jury trials, and obtain 75% approval of the current members to be invited.
Founded in 1958, ABOTA is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the civil jury trial right provided by the Seventh Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
